1. Small Ways to Take Care Of Yourself During a Stressful News Cycle

“The world can feel chaotic and unpredictable, and with so much going on that feels bad, it’s easy to get lost in negativity. 2. How to Get Out of a Slump When You’re Feeling Unmotivated

“When finding myself in a slump, I always reflect on the inspiration from a great comeback story and begin writing my own. First, I visualize all the steps it will take me to get unstuck and the end state of achieving these milestones. Then, I put all of the steps into an action plan with daily successes metrics to celebrate all of the small achievements along the way to vision fulfillment. Lastly, I focus on the power of self-motivation, because no one else is in charge of my comeback but me.”

3. How to stay focused when your mind feels cluttered

“When the stress response begins to set in and feelings of anxiety surface, I immediately direct my consciousness to all of the gifts that exist in the present moment and express gratitude for them. There are so many wonders on the earth that help sustain our everyday lives, and far too often, we take these gifts for granted until they are lost. I always remember that the greatest gift in life is the human experience. We have the opportunity to learn, grow, and evolve here on earth from all of the challenges we have as individuals and as a species.”

4. Powerful Words That Are Helping Us Start 2022 Off Right

“It’s the most powerful expression of energy in the universe and one of the highest levels of consciousness. Still, it can be challenging to express because many media sources focus on destructive thoughts of fear, worry, and hate. 2022 will be a year filled with love, a time to focus on sharing empathy, compassion, and kindness with all of humanity. There is more that unites us than should ever divide us. Love is the answer.”

5. How to Stop Sweating the Small Stuff and Move Forward

“I try to accept what I cannot change. I’ve always enjoyed this quote by the great philosopher Epictetus who said, ‘Don’t seek to have events happen as you wish, but wish them to happen as they do happen, and all will be well with you.’ Life is unpredictable, so to find peace, it’s essential to embrace all moments without judgment. Peace comes from knowing that unpleasant events are transitory and will pass, just like the natural cycles of day and night.”

6. Underrated Pieces of Financial Advice That Changed Our Outlook

“When I was younger, I learned that we all have a baseline level of happiness, and when we open our wallets and give into wants and desires, we receive a short burst of joy due to the release of dopamine. Then, shortly after the purchase, we are right back where we started. Our life doesn’t change, as our happiness is not dependent on material things. Instead, it’s important that we can express gratitude for the gifts in life such as health, family, and friends.”

7. Small Rituals That Help Us Recharge Our Batteries

“When my mind gets into overdrive and I begin to feel overwhelmed, I love to connect with nature. Ten minutes away from my home, there is a lake inhabited by a large group of turtles, a duck, and a goose. They have become friends of mine! I love to watch how the turtles stand still and soak up the sun, how the ducks swim in a tight pack, and how the goose stays vigilant over his territory. Observing the intuitive connection animals have within their environments is quite soothing and helps me recharge.”

8. Small Gestures That Help Us Show Up for Others

“We often get so caught up with ourselves that we fail to recognize the person sitting across from us. When meeting someone new, I take time to notice the minor visual details. By recognizing something like a haircut, a unique piece of jewelry, or expressions of someone’s personality, you can make them smile and set the stage to learn more. When it comes to my deeper connections, I tend to provide compliments about why I value them as friends, co-workers, or business partners.”

9. Unexpected Benefits of Movement and Exercise That We Love

“Moving my body helps me silence negative thoughts. Some estimates say we have up to 60,000 thoughts a day, and 80 percent of them are negative. We often fail to recognize that exercise is a great way to create space between your thoughts and bring balance into your life. I find that when I put on a good playlist, get my body moving, and raise my heartbeat, the worries of the past and fears of the future begin to fade as my consciousness focuses on the present moment. Movement of the body comes in many forms, and exercise does not have to live in the gym.”

10. Things We Don’t Do That Help Us Get Our Important Tasks Done

“I don’t multitask. Many of us are still filled with the false belief that there is an advantage to divided attention. When it’s time to complete a task, I close down my email and non-essential windows on my computer and silence my phone. These actions allow me to direct my consciousness to the task at hand with a clear focus so I can put in a concentrated effort. When we choose not to multitask, we stay in the moment, increasing our decision-making, problem-solving, and creativity. After about 90 minutes of work, I notice my concentration begins to fade, so I take a quick break and then get back to the task at hand.”

Next, I slow my breathing and visualize people worldwide who are suffering from far worse and try to imagine what it’s like to face the challenges they have every day. Then, I express gratitude for what I have in life, and my stress levels are minimized.”
